What Happens If My Backflow Test Fails?

A failed backflow test means one of the assembly's internal valves is not holding correctly. It does not mean your water is contaminated; it means the safeguard needs service.

What happens next

1. We document the failure on-site. 2. In most cases we can repair the assembly the same day using parts with us. 3. We re-test, and if it passes, we submit the passing report to your city. 4. If the assembly is too old to repair, we'll quote a replacement.

Will the city know it failed?

Texas requires testers to report passing tests to the city. We submit only the final passing test, which is what the city needs for your annual compliance.

How long do I have?

Most cities give you 30 days from the failed test to submit a passing one. We move much faster than that.
